Today a Butterfly landed upon my window…

I thought of you,

Such beauty you brought to my life.

Like the soft whisper of butterfly wings

You colored my life

Vibrant hues I never had seen.

Gently like a butterfly you weaved dreams

I had not dreamt before

Now I long for them once more.

Butterfly why did you have to leave?

You flew off to Summerland

Your wings carrying my prayers.

Like a warm summer breeze you touched my life

All too soon you were gone

Now I wait for you to embrace me again.

A butterfly dance upon the flowers of the field

Reminds me how fragile life is

The journey long without wings to soar.

In my soul the butterfly flutters

An awakening

Or just a longing for things unseen…
